What this covers
This policy explains what happens to information you provide through dogtrainingak.com, the website of The Dog Savant, operated by Brett Endes in Anchorage, Alaska. It covers the contact form, the analytics on the site, and the advertising measurement tools described below.
What we collect when you contact us
If you submit the contact form, we collect what you type into it:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your city, if you provide it
- Details about your dog, if you provide them
- A description of the behavior problem you want help with
- Your preferred method of contact, if you select one
What we collect automatically
Alongside a form submission we record your browser's user agent string and the page that referred you, which help us understand which pages produce enquiries and diagnose problems with the form.
The site also runs Vercel Analytics, which measures page views and performance without using cookies to track you across other websites.
If you call or text the number on this site, that communication happens on Brett's phone carrier and is not collected by this website.
Advertising measurement, including Meta
This site uses the Meta Pixel, so submitting the form may be recorded as a conversion for advertising measurement. We also send that conversion to Meta from our server.
In the server side version, your email address, phone number, and first name are hashed with SHA-256 before they are transmitted, so Meta receives an irreversible fingerprint rather than the values themselves. Your IP address and user agent are sent unhashed, as Meta's system requires, along with Meta's own advertising cookies if your browser has them.
You can limit this. Browser level tracking protection, an ad blocker, or Meta's own ad preference controls all reduce or prevent it. Blocking these tools does not affect your ability to use this site or contact Brett, and calling or texting instead of using the form avoids the conversion event entirely.
Where the information goes
Form submissions are stored in our hosted database, provided by Supabase, and emailed to Brett and to Landon Scales, the agency that maintains this website, using the email service Resend. The site itself is hosted by Vercel.
That is the complete list. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with other dog trainers, brokers, or lead resellers.
How we use it
To respond to you about training, to schedule and deliver sessions, to follow up if you asked us to, and to understand which parts of this site work. Nothing else.
If you become a client, we keep enough of a record to provide the lifetime support that comes with every program, because that support is not much use if we have forgotten your dog.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become clients are kept while they are still commercially relevant and then removed on request at any time. Client records are kept for as long as the lifetime support commitment stands, which is indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Alaska residents have these rights under the Alaska Data Privacy and Security Act, and we will honor the same requests from anyone regardless of where they live.
Email info@thedogsavant.com or call (907) 203-0788. We will not ask you to justify the request.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
